SHOP FOREMAN
Experience: 7 years
minimum working at a Journeyman Machinist level along with 2 years minimum
supervisory experience. Knowledge of all phases of machine and millwright work.
2nd shift Foreman should have a very strong knowledge of CNC Lathe
operations, troubleshooting, and programming.
Duties: Assign employees from the general machine shop, CNC shop
and welding shop to various jobs taking into account their experience and
capabilities. Ensure all jobs are properly planned and prepared so that all
necessary items to meet contract requirements are available before the start of
production. Assist in the instruction and training of employees to carry out
their duties. Ensure proper maintenance is carried out on all tools and
equipment per best shop practice and/or manufactures recommendations to provide
employees with capable equipment and tools to perform their duties. Make
recommendations for repair/replacement of used equipment and tooling. Assist in
the job quotation process. Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working
environment.
Requirements: Personal precision measuring instruments capable of
meeting calibration requirements. Miscellaneous hand tools required to perform
job. Good communication and management skills. Familiarization with API and or
Premium threading specifications a plus.
Degree in manufacturing or related field a plus but not required.
